Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. One year of advanced clerical experience in tax collection, property appraisal, real estate, or related accounting environment is required. Additional experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. A Paralegal Certificate may substitute for two years of the required education.

This is a supervisory-level position within the Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector’s Fulfillment Payment Processing Division, responsible for overseeing daily operations in a high volume, fast-paced environment. The incumbent manages and directs payment processing and mail distribution activities to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant handling of financial transactions and correspondence. Responsibilities include supervising Tax Records Specialists and Senior Tax Records Specialists, reviewing work for accuracy, and providing continuous performance management, coaching, and training. The supervisor is responsible for maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring reconciliation accuracy, and supporting operational continuity across multiple tax-related functions. Additional duties include overseeing mail processing deadlines, deposit validation, refund determinations, tax deferred applications, tax certificate processing, and the management of inventory for licenses, decals, and permits. The role also involves participation in staffing functions such as making hiring recommendations, administering discipline, conducting performance evaluations, and approving leave and overtime. The incumbent works closely with division leadership and other operational units to ensure compliance with Florida Statutes, County Ordinances, and departmental procedures, while supporting effective and efficient service delivery. The Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, addressing escalated taxpayer concerns, and maintaining full compliance with applicable regulations and policies. This includes supervising staff performance through ongoing feedback and evaluation, training new employees, conducting refresher training, and assisting with the implementation of new procedures. The position requires the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously, monitor operational metrics such as call and workload data, and report operational issues to management in a timely and accurate manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) is required, along with the ability to work effectively across multiple internal systems in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
