Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Participates in Community Conversation on Transparency and Access in South Dade

This week, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez participated in a panel discussion during Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins’ Annual Community Conversation & Resource Fair, joining fellow constitutional officers and community leaders for a meaningful dialogue focused on public service and accountability.
The panel centered on key issues affecting residents across Miami-Dade County, including transparency in government, accessibility to essential services, and the importance of bringing government closer to the people it serves. The conversation provided an opportunity to share perspectives, highlight ongoing efforts, and discuss practical ways to strengthen trust between public institutions and the community.
As Tax Collector, Fernandez emphasized the role of constitutional offices in ensuring services are delivered efficiently, fairly, and with a clear focus on residents’ needs. He shared how the Tax Collector’s Office continues working to expand access, reduce barriers, and modernize service delivery so residents can interact with government in ways that are convenient and responsive.
Fernandez thanked Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins for the invitation and for convening a forum that encourages open dialogue and collaboration. Events like the Community Conversation & Resource Fair, he noted, play an important role in connecting residents with resources while fostering constructive engagement between local leaders and the communities they represent.
The panel reinforced a shared commitment among participating officials to accountable governance and people-centered service. By creating spaces for honest discussion and collaboration, Miami-Dade County leaders continue working toward a government that is accessible, transparent, and focused on delivering real results for the public.
