Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Meets with FIU President Jeanette Nuñez to Bring Government Services Directly to Campus

This week, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez met with **Florida International University President Jeanette Nuñez to discuss partnership opportunities focused on expanding access to essential services for students and faculty.
The conversation centered on practical collaboration between the Tax Collector’s Office and FIU, with an emphasis on meeting people where they are and removing barriers to everyday government services for the university community.
As part of this effort, the Tax Collector’s Mobile Office visited the FIU campus, providing on-site assistance with driver license renewals, vehicle registration services, and tax-related support. By bringing services directly to campus, students were able to complete essential transactions without leaving their academic environment.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to accessibility, efficiency, and service. The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office continues to work with educational institutions and community partners to deliver government services in ways that are convenient, responsive, and centered on the needs of residents across the county.
