Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Joins City of Miami Seniors to Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary
Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined seniors at Antonio Maceo Park to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of American Independence, honoring the generation whose sacrifices, service, and leadership have helped build the strong communities we enjoy today.
The celebration brought together seniors, families, and community members to reflect on the values of freedom, patriotism, and civic responsibility that have defined the United States for two and a half centuries.
"Our seniors have witnessed history, overcome challenges, and helped shape the communities we proudly call home," said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. "Celebrating America's 250th anniversary alongside them was a meaningful reminder that the freedoms we enjoy today were preserved through the dedication and sacrifice of generations before us. It is now our responsibility to protect that legacy and pass it on to those who follow."
Fernandez thanked City of Miami Commissioner Miguel Angel Gabela and his team for organizing the celebration and for creating an opportunity to recognize both America's historic milestone and the invaluable contributions of Miami's senior community.
"As we celebrate 250 years of American independence, we also celebrate the people who helped build this nation and continue to inspire future generations," Fernandez added. "Their wisdom, resilience, and love for our country remind us that freedom is not only a privilege, but a responsibility we all share."
