Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Attends Peru's Independence Day Celebration and Bicentennial of U.S.-Peru Diplomatic Relations

Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez attended the celebration of Peru's Independence Day and the Bicentennial of Diplomatic Relations between the United States and Peru in Washington, D.C., joining government officials, diplomats, and community leaders in recognizing two centuries of friendship and cooperation between both nations.

The event highlighted the enduring relationship between the United States and Peru, built on shared democratic values, economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and mutual respect. It also celebrated the many contributions of the Peruvian community to the United States and the strong ties that continue to unite both countries.

"It was an honor to participate in this important celebration and recognize the historic friendship between the United States and Peru," said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. "International partnerships strengthen our communities, create new opportunities for cooperation, and remind us that freedom, democracy, and mutual respect are values that transcend borders."

Fernandez thanked Ambassador Alfredo Ferrero for his gracious invitation and hospitality, and also expressed his appreciation to Peru's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Pareja, for joining the celebration and reaffirming the close relationship between both nations.

As Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, Fernandez noted that Miami-Dade is home to one of the nation's most vibrant international communities, making opportunities to strengthen relationships with allied nations especially meaningful.

Fernandez congratulated the people of Peru on their Independence Day and celebrated the continued partnership between Peru and the United States, expressing confidence that the relationship between both countries will continue to grow for generations to come.
