I want to thank Mayor Steven Losner and the entire Homestead City Council for unanimously approving Item CAR4919. I also want to thank Councilwoman Erica G. Ávila and Councilman Clemente Canabal for sponsoring this important measure and for their leadership in advancing accountability and compliance.

This action reflects a clear commitment to coordination, transparency, and full compliance with applicable laws governing business tax receipts, including laws related to businesses engaged in activities involving the Cuban communist and socialist regime. By strengthening communication and oversight procedures, the City of Homestead is reinforcing the integrity of its licensing process and ensuring that legal requirements are applied consistently and within the proper statutory framework.

My office stands ready to work closely with the City Manager, Mayor, and Council to support implementation, maintain accountability, and protect the integrity of our local business environment. I appreciate the City of Homestead for its leadership and partnership.
