The Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector participated in this year’s PBA Pig Roast Bowl Series, supporting the Love Fund, an organization that provides critical assistance to the families of fallen law enforcement officers. The event brought together residents, first responders, and community partners for a day centered on service, remembrance, and gratitude.

The Love Fund plays a vital role in helping families who face the loss of a loved one in the line of duty. By attending the event, the Tax Collector’s Office joined the effort to honor the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice and to recognize the families who continue carrying their legacy.

Events like this remind us what community truly means — standing shoulder to shoulder to honor the men and women who gave everything to protect us,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “We will always back the blue, and we stand with the families who continue the legacy of our fallen officers. I’m grateful to my team for showing up with pride and dedication, and I remain committed to supporting these families with strength and respect.”

Throughout the event, staff from the Tax Collector’s Office connected with residents, shared information about available services, and joined partners who work every day to keep Miami-Dade safe.

Fernandez also extended his appreciation to the South Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA) for its leadership and for organizing a gathering that highlights the importance of supporting law enforcement families.

The Pig Roast Bowl Series once again showcased the power of community, bringing people together to honor sacrifice, support one another, and uplift the families of those who dedicated their lives to protecting Miami-Dade County.
