Miami, FL — In a continued effort to build strong relationships with the international community in Miami-Dade County, Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez had the honor of visiting the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany. During the visit, Fernandez met with Consul General Christofer Burger and his dedicated team for a warm and engaging discussion on collaboration and service.
“As Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, I deeply value our partnerships with the diplomatic community,” said Fernandez. “It was a privilege to meet with Consul General Burger and his team. Our conversation highlighted the importance of cooperation and ensuring that the needs of international residents and diplomats are met with professionalism and respect.”
The Office of the Tax Collector plays a vital role in supporting the diverse needs of Miami-Dade’s international population, including members of the diplomatic corps. Among the services offered are:
Local Business Tax registration for new and existing businesses
A specialized driver license program for diplomatic personnel, coordinated directly with the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Foreign Missions (OFM) — not through state agencies — ensuring reciprocal treatment for foreign diplomats
“These tailored services reflect our commitment to accessibility, efficiency, and diplomacy,” Fernandez added. “We are proud to support those who serve abroad and now serve their nations here in Miami.”
