Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez proudly inaugurated the fourth Tax Collector's branch office on June 4, 2025, at Midway Crossings Mall. Formerly known as the Mall of the America's DMV, the newly unveiled facility has undergone a complete transformation, featuring modern infrastructure, upgraded technology, and a larger team of customer service representatives to meet growing residents demand.

This office, once making headlines for long lines and poor service, it has now been transformed into a modern and efficient government hub. With 40 service windows and the ability to serve more than 800 customers daily, the office is now equipped to meet the needs of Miami-Dade residents in a streamlined, user-friendly environment.

“This is a historic moment for the residents of Miami-Dade,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez during remarks to an audience of more than 100 attendees. “Today, we unveil a new way of serving the community, with innovation, integrity, and efficiency.”

As a full-service Tax Collector branch, the Midway Crossings location now offers a wide range of essential services. Residents can now obtain or renew driver licenses and state IDs, pay property and business taxes, renew vehicle registrations, and complete other transactions—all under one roof.

This comprehensive approach to service delivery marks a new era of accessibility and efficiency for the county. Attendees toured the facility and witness the transformation of key features, such as the new technology, updated flooring, a redesigned layout, and a fresh, polished look.

Today, thanks to the leadership and vision of the Tax Collector, this office is functioning at a level that meets and exceeds expectations of the community. “This is not about politics or about my name,” added Fernandez. “This is about the community and how we can better serve them with efficiency and dignity.”

Looking ahead, Fernandez announced plans to acquire and manage new locations in Florida City and Kendall. The Tax Collector’s Office aims to have 14 fully operational branches throughout Miami-Dade County by year’s end, continuing its mission to expand access to vital government services for all residents.
