Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez recently led a series of community outreach events focused on providing driver’s license services to Haitian Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients. Through the Tax Collector’s TConnect Mobile Office, essential services were delivered directly into neighborhoods, making it easier for residents to renew, reinstate, or replace their driver’s licenses without the burden of traveling to a traditional office. By bringing services into the community, the initiative removed common barriers such as transportation challenges, time constraints, and long wait times.

Fernandez partnered with Commissioner Marleine Bastien and local municipal leaders to ensure the events were accessible and responsive to the needs of the Haitian community. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to practical solutions that expand access and improve service delivery.

“As Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, it is my responsibility to ensure that essential services are available where they are needed most,” said Fernandez. “Through TConnect, we are meeting residents where they are, expanding access, and delivering services in a professional and efficient manner.”

The outreach effort underscores the Tax Collector’s broader mission to modernize government services and prioritize people first. By continuing to deploy the TConnect Mobile Office across Miami-Dade County, Fernandez remains focused on ensuring that every community — including TPS recipients and working families — has convenient access to the services they depend on.
