Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Celebrates Independence Day with Communities Across Miami-Dade County

Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez spent the Fourth of July joining residents across Miami-Dade County to celebrate America’s 250th birthday and honor the freedoms, opportunities, and values that have shaped the nation for two and a half centuries.

Throughout the celebrations, Fernandez participated in Independence Day events in Doral, Hialeah, Miami Springs, Key Biscayne, Virginia Gardens, Opa-locka, North Miami Beach, the City of Miami’s District 1, and Tropical Park. Families, veterans, first responders, community leaders, and residents came together to mark this historic milestone with patriotism, gratitude, and pride.

The celebrations reflected the diversity and unity that define Miami-Dade County, bringing together neighbors from every background to honor the principles of liberty, democracy, and public service.

“As someone who came to this country in search of freedom, the Fourth of July holds a special meaning for me,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “America has given millions of people the opportunity to build better lives, pursue their dreams, and provide brighter futures for their families. Celebrating our nation’s 250th birthday alongside communities across Miami-Dade was both a privilege and a reminder that freedom is something we must never take for granted.”

From patriotic parades and neighborhood festivals to family-friendly gatherings and community celebrations, every event served as a reminder that the American spirit is strengthened when communities come together.

“As we celebrate 250 years of our nation’s history, we also celebrate the people who make our communities strong,” Fernandez said. “The patriotism, kindness, and civic pride displayed throughout Miami-Dade County remind us that America’s greatest strength has always been its people. Together, we honor those who came before us, appreciate the freedoms we enjoy today, and reaffirm our responsibility to preserve those liberties for future generations.”

Fernandez concluded by thanking every city, volunteer, first responder, and resident who helped make Independence Day meaningful across Miami-Dade County.
