Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Celebrates Arrival of LATAM Cargo Humanitarian Flight to Venezuela

Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez recognized the incredible generosity of the Miami-Dade community following the successful arrival of 50 tons of humanitarian aid in Venezuela for families affected by the recent earthquake.

Collected through a countywide donation drive, the shipment landed safely at Maiquetia Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS) in Caracas, delivering essential food, hygiene products, medical supplies, and other critical items to communities in need.

The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector's Office was honored to serve as one of the official donation drop-off locations, providing residents with an opportunity to support the humanitarian effort alongside community partners.

"This achievement belongs to our community," said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. "Thousands of people answered the call to help complete strangers in need, proving once again that compassion knows no borders. Every donated item represents hope, and every act of kindness reminds us of the incredible impact we can have when we come together."

Fernandez thanked Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) for leading and coordinating the relief mission, LATAM Cargo for transporting the humanitarian supplies to Venezuela, and the thousands of volunteers whose dedication made the effort possible.

"I also want to thank every resident who donated and every volunteer who gave their time to sort, pack, and prepare these supplies," Fernandez said. "This mission reflects the very best of our community. When people come together to help others without expecting anything in return, they demonstrate the true meaning of public service and compassion."

Fernandez added that the response from Miami-Dade residents serves as a powerful reminder that communities can make a meaningful difference when they unite behind a common purpose.
