(Miami-Dade, FL - February 6th 2026) Official Statement on Driver License Testing Language Policy Clarification.

Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) has announced a statewide policy clarification regarding driver license testing. Beginning February 6, 2026, all driver license knowledge and skills examinations will be administered exclusively in English.

This requirement applies to all appointments scheduled on or after February 6, 2026.

In collaboration with FLHSMV, a limited 60-day transition period has been approved for customers who scheduled their appointments prior to February 6, 2026. This period ends March 31, 2026. During this transition period, eligible customers may complete their driver license knowledge or practical exam in English or Spanish.
This language accommodation applies only to customers with appointments scheduled before the February 6, 2026 effective date. The purpose of this transition period is to balance public safety with continued service accessibility, while providing customers additional time to prepare for testing in English under the new statewide standard.

We appreciate FLHSMV’s collaboration and guidance, and we extend our thanks to our state leaders for supporting an orderly, consistent, and transparent implementation of this policy change.
