In support of our office’s initiative to ensure that no business operates illegally by maintaining commercial ties with the Cuban dictatorship, elected leaders committed to legality, freedom, and the rule of law have joined this cause.

I am grateful for the support and collaboration of elected officials who have spoken out and taken concrete action as part of this collective effort, including  Hialeah Mayor Bryan Calvo, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis, Coral Gables Mayor Vince Lago, Doral Mayor Christi Fraga and City of Miami Commissioner Ralph Rosado. Their leadership sends a clear message of institutional unity against activities that violate the law and betray the values of our community.

Miami-Dade is home to thousands of immigrants who fled dictatorships, political persecution, and repression. We cannot allow Miami-Dade County to become an economic refuge or commercial platform for some of the world’s most brutal regimes.

Our commitment is clear: to enforce the law without exception, protect the integrity of our local economy, and honor the history of those who came to this county seeking freedom, not complicity with oppressive regimes.

This effort will continue with the firmness, coordination, and responsibility that the residents of Miami-Dade expect from their leaders. I invite all elected officials who share this commitment to legality, freedom, and the rule of law to join this initiative. Defending our values and enforcing the law requires unified action and principled leadership.
