Statement from Dariel Fernandez, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, on the Attack Targeting the Jewish Community in Boulder, Colorado, USA

Miami, FL. June 2. 2025. I join in prayer for the full recovery of all those wounded in the senseless and horrific attack that targeted the Jewish community in Boulder, Colorado.
This attack was aimed at peaceful individuals who were simply standing in solidarity with the hostages held by the terrorist organization Hamas, merely because of their Jewish faith.
As Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, I stand united against any form of violence. antisemitism, and hatred. This attack is not just an assault on individuals but an attack on the values we cherish as a society - freedom, safety, and human dignity.
We unequivocally condemn this cowardly act of terror and reaffirm our unwavering support for the Jewish community in Boulder, across the United States, and around the world. We stand with the people of Israel, who continue to face threats from terrorist organizations like Hamas. We share their grief and stand in solidarity with them in the fight against terrorism and hate.
We must end this ideology of destruction and terror. Together, we can and must build a future founded on peace, justice, and respect for all humanity.
My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the entire Jewish community. Together, we must stand strong against hate and work tirelessly for a future where such acts have no place.
