Miami, FL – September 10, 2025 — The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office, under the leadership of the Honorable Dariel Fernandez, proudly inaugurated its eighth branch office during a well-attended ribbon-cutting ceremony held today at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building.

The ceremony brought together a distinguished group of community leaders, including Clerk of the Court and Comptroller Juan Fernandez-Barquin, who was instrumental in making this office a reality, along with Chief Judge of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Ariana Fajardo Orshan, Public Defender Carlos Martinez, City of Miami Commissioner Miguel Angel Gabela, dozens of community leaders, state and federal representatives, and judicial administrators.

“Today we are not just opening another office, we are fulfilling a promise by making services more accessible for every resident of Miami-Dade County,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “This new location demonstrates our mission to bring government closer to the people and provide solutions where they are needed most.”

The new branch, located in Room 133, marks a historic first for Miami-Dade County, as for the first time, residents will be able to access driver license services along with the full range of office services, directly inside, the central courthouse of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.

Clerk of the Court and Comptroller Juan Fernandez-Barquin highlighted the importance of this collaboration: “This is an example of what true government partnership can accomplish. With this opening, residents handling court-related matters at the court can now have the convenience of accessing Tax Collector and driver license services without leaving the courthouse”

“It is an exciting opportunity to partner with Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez to amplify services to better service the community. This office will bring great benefits and convenience to many people” said Chief Judge Ariana Fajardo Orshan.

Residents facing driver license issues and suspensions can now meet court requirements and immediately proceed to the Tax Collector’s Office in room 133 to lift any restrictions on their driver licenses, all under the same roof.
