Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Serves as Grand Marshal for Miami Lighthouse White Cane Day Walk
The Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector proudly joined the community in celebrating Miami Lighthouse’s 95th anniversary during the annual White Cane Day Walk, an event dedicated to raising awareness about the rights and safety of individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez had the honor of serving as Grand Marshal, leading the walk alongside local leaders, advocates, and residents committed to promoting inclusion and accessibility for all. The event highlighted the importance of White Cane Safety Laws, which protect the independence and mobility of individuals using white canes or guide dogs.
“Miami Lighthouse has been a beacon of hope for nearly a century,” said Tax Collector Fernandez. “We’re proud to stand with an organization that continues to change lives through education, empowerment, and community service.”
The Office of the Tax Collector remains committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen accessibility, awareness, and equal opportunity across Miami-Dade County.
