Miami, FL – October 6, 2025 – Clerk of the Court and Comptroller Juan Fernandez-Barquin announced the launch of Operation Green Light, a bi-annual initiative designed to help residents resolve outstanding court obligations, pay overdue fines or fees without additional collection costs, and restore their driving privileges.

This program offers residents a unique opportunity to save money while regaining the ability to drive legally and safely—helping them return to work, meet family responsibilities, and improve their overall quality of life.

“Operation Green Light is about giving people a second chance,” said Clerk of the Court and Comptroller Juan Fernandez-Barquin. “We’re helping residents clear their records, save on additional fees, and get back behind the wheel safely and responsibly. We’re grateful to have the support of Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez and his team in bringing these services directly to the people.”

To make the process even easier for residents, the Tax Collector’s Office will waive the $6.25 service fee normally charged for driver license transactions during Operation Green Light. This allows participants to save even more while resolving their obligations.

In addition to mobile services offered during the event, the Tax Collector’s Office operates two permanent driver license service centers located at the North Dade Justice Center and the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building, providing year-round access for residents across the county.

"We’re proud to support his initiative and help residents complete multiple services in one visit. Together, we’re making government more accessible, more efficient, and more helpful for the people of Miami-Dade County.” Said Tax Collector Fernandez.
