The Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector officially opened its Miami Beach Tax Collector Office, marking a historic milestone as the 13th branch location in Miami-Dade County and the first full-service Tax Collector office serving residents of Miami Beach. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on March 5, recognized locally as “305 Day,” a celebration of Miami’s culture and community The new location brings essential government services directly to the community, allowing residents to complete important transactions without leaving the island.

“The opening of our Miami Beach office marks a historic milestone for Miami-Dade County. For the first time, we are bringing Tax Collector services directly to the residents of Miami Beach, expanding access, increasing efficiency, and delivering a modern, people-first experience. This is more than a ribbon-cutting; it is a promise fulfilled and a continued commitment to making government services more accessible and responsive to our community,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez.

The new Miami Beach office represents a significant step in the Tax Collector’s ongoing effort to expand access to services across Miami-Dade County and make everyday government transactions more convenient for residents. By establishing a location directly within the City of Miami Beach, residents no longer need to travel across the causeway to obtain services such as driver licenses, identification cards, motor vehicle registrations, property tax payments, disabled parking permits, and business tax receipts.

The office opening was celebrated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, Commissioner Alex Fernandez, members of the Miami Beach City Commission, County Commissioner Vicki L. Lopez, community leaders, and residents. The City of Miami Beach and Commissioner Lopez also presented the Office of the Tax Collector with a Certificate of Recognition commemorating the historic opening of the office.

The Miami Beach branch is part of the Tax Collector’s broader efforts to enhance service delivery throughout Miami-Dade County, including expanded office locations, Saturday service hours, self-service kiosks, and mobile service events designed to better meet the needs of residents.
