Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez recently met with Sunny Isles Beach Mayor Larisa Svechin to share ideas and explore ways to better serve the residents of Sunny Isles Beach. With a population of more than 22,000, Sunny Isles is a small but vibrant community in Miami Beach with a diverse demographic and specific needs due to its unique location and accessibility challenges.
“I’m grateful for Mayor Larisa Svechin’s leadership and commitment to the community. Together, we remain focused on solutions that put people first,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “As the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, I will continue working with local leaders like Mayor Svechin to modernize services, eliminate bureaucracy, and deliver real results for the people of Miami-Dade County.”
During the meeting, Fernandez and Svechin discussed the importance of providing accessible government services to all residents of Sunny Isles Beach. Currently, residents of the city must travel more than 10-15 miles to access the nearest Tax Collector’s Office, which presents a barrier to timely and efficient service. The introduction of a Tax Collector office in Sunny Isles Beach would provide the community with greater access to essential services, benefiting residents by making services like driver’s license renewals, tax payments, and identification card services more convenient.
“Sunny Isles Beach is a beautiful gem located by the ocean, and its residents will greatly benefit from having a Tax Collector’s Office in their city,” added Fernandez. “This is just one of many steps we are taking to ensure that all residents, regardless of location, have access to the government services they need.”
The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office continues to prioritize modernization and accessibility, and Fernandez looks forward to continuing to work with Mayor Svechin and other local leaders to improve services and meet the needs of the diverse population in the county.
