The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office, led by Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez, proudly hosted the October Neuro-Inclusive Services Day at its Downtown Miami location, in partnership with Commissioner Raquel Regalado.

Held in recognition of Disability Employment Awareness Month, the event welcomed individuals with autism and other neurodiverse conditions, along with their families, for a dedicated day of personalized, stress-free service. Residents received assistance with identification cards, specialty vouchers, license plates, and other essential County services in a calm and supportive environment.

Tax Collector Fernandez thanked Commissioner Regalado for her leadership in launching the Neuro-Inclusive Services initiative earlier this year and recognized the County staff who continue to make these events possible. “Every person who walks into our office deserves patience, respect, and understanding,” Fernandez said. “By creating these dedicated service days, we’re building a stronger, and better community where everyone can access the services, they need with dignity.”

The October event also featured collaboration from several County departments and partners offering information and on-site support, including voter registration, property fraud alert enrollment, and disability exemption guidance.

Launched in April, Neuro-Inclusive Services Days have become a cornerstone of the County’s efforts to promote accessibility and awareness. The Tax Collector’s Office continues to lead by example, ensuring that every resident—regardless of ability—feels welcomed and supported when seeking County services.

As Fernandez noted, “This isn’t just about a single event. It’s about changing how we serve, making every day in Miami-Dade more inclusive, compassionate, and people-first.”
