Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Celebrates Valentine’s Day with Seniors in Hialeah

This week, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez joined seniors at the Milander Center in Hialeah to celebrate Valentine’s Day and recognize the generations who helped build the community. The event brought together residents, local leaders, and community partners for an afternoon centered on appreciation, connection, and gratitude.
“Spending time with our seniors is always meaningful,” said Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “They built this community and paved the way for all of us. As your Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, I remain committed to making our services more accessible and bringing them directly into the community, especially for our seniors.”
Fernandez extended his appreciation to Hialeah Mayor Bryan Calvo, the City Councilmembers, Hialeah Housing, and the team at the Milander Center for their partnership and hospitality. He also thanked the staff and volunteers who helped organize the celebration and welcomed residents with warmth and care.
The gathering reflected the Tax Collector’s broader commitment to community engagement and ensuring that seniors have convenient access to essential services. By showing up in neighborhoods across Miami-Dade, the Office continues working to make government more present, accessible, and responsive.
For Fernandez, Hialeah remains more than a location on the map — it is a community rooted in tradition, family, and service. “Hialeah always feels like home,” he added.
