Dariel Fernandez, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, Announces TPS Extension for Certain Venezuelan Nationals

The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office is informing the public of updated guidance regarding Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for certain Venezuelan nationals, in accordance with directions from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV). 

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has extended TPS for certain Venezuelan nationals who re-registered with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services between January 17 and September 10, 2025, until October 2, 2026. Residents are encouraged to review their TPS and work authorization documents to ensure they are valid. 

The Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office will continue to follow state guidance and encourages all TPS beneficiaries to refer directly to our official announcements for the most current and detailed information. Residents should bring valid documentation when requesting services at the Tax Collector’s Office, particularly for driver license and motor vehicle transactions.
