The Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector proudly participated in the commemoration of Nostra Aetate: The 60th Anniversary of the Legacy of Catholic–Jewish Relations in America, hosted by St. Thomas University.

This historic milestone celebrates six decades of progress in interfaith dialogue and understanding. Nostra Aetate, issued in 1965 by the Second Vatican Council, transformed relations between the Catholic Church and non-Christian faiths, promoting respect, compassion, and cooperation among communities around the world.

Nostra Aetate reminds us of the power of dialogue, mutual respect, and understanding between faiths,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “Its spirit continues to inspire unity, compassion, and peace across communities. I’m grateful to witness and support the ongoing efforts that strengthen our shared values of faith, respect, and humanity.”

The Office of the Tax Collector thanks St. Thomas University for the kind invitation and remains committed to supporting initiatives that foster inclusion, dialogue, and harmony throughout Miami-Dade County.
