Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Brings Holiday Joy to Children in Foster Care Supporting Voices for Children

Over the past several weeks, Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez led a countywide holiday toy drive in support of Voices for Children, helping bring Christmas joy to children in foster care across Miami-Dade County.

All Tax Collector offices opened their doors as toy drop-off locations, making it easy for residents, businesses, and community members to participate. Thanks to the generosity of the community, hundreds of toys were collected to benefit children served by Voices for Children.

Each toy represented more than a gift — it was a reminder to children in foster care that they are seen, valued, and remembered during the holiday season. By turning everyday government offices into collection sites, the Tax Collector’s Office helped transform public service into a tangible act of giving.

Fernandez thanked the Miami-Dade community for stepping up and supporting Voices for Children and reaffirmed the office’s commitment to using its reach to make a real difference for families and children throughout the county.
