Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez Opens Tenth Office in Miami Gardens

The Miami-Dade County Office of the Tax Collector officially opened its tenth Tax Collector Office today in Miami Gardens, marking a major step in expanding public access to essential county services across northern Miami-Dade.
“Today’s opening is about accessibility and service,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez. “For too long, many residents in this area have had to travel across the county just to renew a license, pay property taxes, or handle routine transactions. With this new office, we’re bringing government closer to the people — efficiently, respectfully, and right where they live.”
The new Miami Gardens Tax Collector Office reflects Fernandez’s continued commitment to improving access, convenience, and transparency in public service. The modern facility will serve thousands of residents each month, offering essential services such as driver licenses and ID cards, vehicle registrations, property tax payments, and business tax receipts.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together City of Opa-Locka Mayor John Taylor, Miami Gardens Councilman Reggie Leon, representatives from the Office of Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, and Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia, along with community leaders and residents who gathered to celebrate the milestone.
“This new location demonstrates our commitment to efficiency and public service,” Fernandez added. “Every new office we open is another step toward making government simpler, faster, and more responsive to the people we serve.”
